Canon Event

During one of Sam's fights with her worlds version of the Green Goblin, her best friend, Apex Bakir, was pushed off a building after trying to help Sam.Rushing to save him by diving off the building, Sam tried using her webs to reach him.She failed to save him in time, resulting in his death.

Backstory

Samantha (22) was working at a public pool in Manhattan as a part-time job during the summer. One day during her shift a young girl got stuck in the volleyball net after it broke off and fell into the pool. Samantha was able to successfully save the girl while everyone else evacuated the pool. Children and adults were running around to pick up all their stuff and leave, since the pool was deemed unsafe and needed to be cleaned up.On her way to check up on the girl who was now safely with her parents, someone bumped into Sam and knocked her over. She fell and landed on the broken pole that used to hold up the net. It pierced through her right leg, causing her to lose a good amount of blood before the paramedics came. During the wait, an injured spider that was stepped on during the panic crawled over her wound.This caused the spider's hemolymph to mix with Samantha’s blood. She was rushed to the hospital where they had to amputate her leg, due to the severity of the injury. In the middle of her recovery, she met a scientist named Apex (23). He was recovering in the hospital due to a similar injury, his right arm having to be amputated.She wasn’t fond of him right away, thinking that he was loud, nosy, and overall annoying. Overtime, the two of them became inseparable. Soon, the two of them were released from the hospital after getting prosthetic replacements. Things were going great for a few weeks, until strange things started happening to Samantha.Her canines grew dangerously sharp, she began to stick to things, even suddenly being able to see in the dark. The spider’s hemolymph permanently altered her DNA, making her become the infamous Spider-Woman of New York 1400B. She was slow to begin the hero-work, not wanting to accept her fate.She tried to tell someone, but came to the conclusion that they would’ve thought she was insane. Keeping it to herself for as long as she possibly could, she went back to her normal life. Until the crime rate in Manhattan began to skyrocket, far beyond petty thieves or robberies.People with strange abilities began to wreck the city, sending everything into chaos. After seeing the fear in Apex’ eyes, she had to do something about it. Confessing her situation to Apex, she soon dawned the title of Red-Dectus. Apex designed a cybernetic suit she could conceal underneath her clothes, both of them mutually agreeing it would be best to keep her identity a secret.

Anomaly Backstory

Sam slowly started to spiral into insanity after the loss of her best friend.She knew a project he was working on before he passed, some machine called The Collider.It was just a small prototype at the time, yet powerful enough to open portals to different dimensions.Breaking into his old lab one night, she tore everything apart while trying to find the instructions for it.After knocking over an old picture of her and Apex, a folded peice of paper fell out of the broken frame.Upon unfolding it, she discovered it was the instructions she had been searching for.In the top left corner, there was a small note in Apex' hand writing that read: "Sam is always talking about missing her parents, I hope this can bring them back."Gripping the paper in her hands, she got to work on booting up the Collider. It took a few tries to get the hang of it -Until finally, it began to work. A bright flash of white filled the room and the machine exploded.She was unsuccesful in bringing anyone back, but the explosion started to leak dark matter into the lab.It began to spread like a virus, erasing anyone and anything it touched.It spread across all of New York, until it was nothing but and empty void. After what felt like eternity, the city started to reform again.No one is sure of the cause, but now her dimension was in a state of confusion. Constantly falling apart and rebuilding.At this time, she was tossed into Earth 1400A by one of the portals that Miles and the others left in the multiverse.She was an anomaly, both for destroying her world and traveling to a new one.
